Software Engineer – Platform & Delivery
Summary
Hands-on engineer maintaining and evolving the existing Harvest platform in Sydney: designing APIs, services and integrations, debugging production/database issues, and taking work from implementation through testing, release and production validation. Core stack is C#/.NET with SQL, REST, Git/CI-CD and cloud (preferably AWS).
Salary: $110,000 – $130,000 per year
About the role
Harvest is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to strengthen the day-to-day engineering capacity of the team and take ownership of software delivery across the existing Harvest platform. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on implementation, investigation, production support, testing and delivery. The role will take ownership of a broad range of development and support work across the platform, working within established technical direction while contributing to platform modernisation, engineering quality and improved development practices. The successful candidate will be expected to independently progress work from investigation through implementation, testing and release, support other developers where appropriate, and escalate architectural or highly complex technical decisions when required.
Key responsibilities
Deliver software changes across the Harvest platform
Design and implement APIs, services, integrations and platform enhancements
Work across established, legacy and newer components
Understand existing system behaviour before making changes
Implement solutions in line with agreed architecture and engineering standards
Take work from implementation through testing, release and production validation
Improve code quality, maintainability, performance and reliability
Investigate application, database, API, integration and production issues
Identify root causes of recurring production, support, data and integration issues
Participate in code review and support other developers with implementation and investigation
About you
Strong professional software engineering experience
Strong C# / .NET development capability
Good SQL and relational database skills
Experience with REST APIs and integrations
Strong debugging and problem-solving ability
Experience working with established production codebases
Experience taking software through development, testing and release
Good understanding of Git and CI/CD
Experience with cloud-hosted systems, preferably AWS
Practical experience using modern AI coding tools
