Software Engineer – Platform Reliability

Everlink is looking for a practical, hands-on software engineer to help strengthen the reliability, quality and supportability of our 'Clarity' platform.

This role sits between software engineering, technical support and DevOps. You'll investigate complex production issues, identify root causes, deliver minor fixes, improve automated testing, strengthen monitoring and build tools that help our Support and Development teams work more effectively.

This is an opportunity to solve meaningful software problems, improve how a live platform performs, and see the real-world impact of your work.

What you’ll be doing

  • Investigating and resolving escalated software issues and production incidents

  • Reproducing faults and completing structured root-cause analysis

  • Delivering minor frontend and backend fixes

  • Writing and improving frontend unit tests

  • Monitoring application performance, logs, alerts and system health

  • Supporting releases, GitHub Actions and CI/CD processes

  • Building scripts, dashboards and tools that reduce repetitive support work

  • Supporting APIs, reports and data-related issues

  • Improving technical documentation, SOPs and knowledge available to Support

  • Identifying recurring problems and implementing permanent solutions

The opportunity

You’ll work closely with our Software Lead, developers and Support team to take ownership of escalated technical issues and improve the overall reliability of Clarity.

The role is not first-line support and is not a pure infrastructure or DevOps position. It combines software engineering, troubleshooting, testing, monitoring, release support and continuous improvement.

Major product development and architecture remain with the core Software Development team, while this role focuses on keeping the platform stable, supportable and continuously improving.

What we’re looking for

At least three years’ relevant experience in software engineering or application support. A related tertiary qualification is desirable, but equivalent practical experience is welcome.

Strong capability in the following areas is important:

  • TypeScript

  • Angular or React

  • Frontend unit testing

  • C# and ASP.NET Core APIs

  • Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL

  • REST APIs and integrations

  • Git, GitHub, pull requests and code reviews

  • Production troubleshooting and structured problem-solving

  • Clear communication, ownership of issues and ability to work well across both technical and non-technical teams

Why Everlink

You’ll be joining a small, experienced technology team where your work will be visible and valued.

Because our hardware, software, R&D and manufacturing teams are based together in Tauranga, you’ll stay close to the product and the people who design, build and support it. You won’t be working on one isolated part of a distant platform.

We offer:

  • Competitive salary based on experience

  • Southern Cross health insurance

  • Birthday leave

  • A supportive and practical working environment

  • Direct access to decision-makers and technical leaders

  • The opportunity to help shape how Clarity grows and operates

About Everlink

Everlink develops connected hardware and software that help organisations control, monitor and understand fuel use. From our Tauranga base, we design and manufacture our own hardware products, including circuit boards built in-house, develop the software behind them, and support customers across New Zealand and international markets. We are a founder-owned New Zealand company, which means our teams work close to the people making decisions and have a real opportunity to influence how our products and business evolve. With established products, a growing software platform and new technology in development, we are entering an exciting stage of growth. Everlink offers the opportunity to work on meaningful engineering problems where software connects directly with physical products, customers and real-world operating environments.

Life in Tauranga

Tauranga offers an appealing balance of career opportunity and coastal lifestyle.

With beaches, coastal walks, mountain biking and the wider Bay of Plenty on your doorstep, it is a great place to build both a career and a life. This role is primarily office-based, with some flexibility to work from home where focused work is required.

Apply

If you enjoy solving complex software problems, improving reliability and working close to both the product and the people who use it, we’d like to hear from you.
