Software Engineer (Python)
About the role
You will construct backend services using Python and web frontends utilizing React or Vue across both platforms and internal applications. You will partner with stakeholders to translate business requirements into functional software, facilitating project scoping, structured execution planning, and iterative development to ensure timely, high-quality delivery. You will design for correctness: transactions, retries, idempotency, and concurrent access. You will adopt an agent-first approach utilizing AI development tools across the specification, generation, review, and testing life cycle, maintaining full professional accountability for all deployed code. You will deploy and operate services, where production operations are conducted primarily on a managed cloud platform with support from the infrastructure team. You will document what you build and share knowledge with the team.

About you
3–5 years of professional software development experience
Python preferred; strong engineers from Go, TypeScript, or Java backgrounds who are ready to work primarily in Python are welcome to apply
Production experience with React or Vue
Comprehensive understanding of technical fundamentals, specifically regarding relational databases and transactions (with a preference for PostgreSQL), HTTP/API design, and core concurrency concepts
Ability to reason effectively about duplicate request scenarios
Working comfort with Linux and Git
Demonstrated experience leveraging AI-powered development tools in production environments
Commitment to maintaining a comprehensive understanding of underlying processes
A sense of ownership, coachability, and direct communication
