Develops software consistent with Cisco ‘Design Thinking Principles’ with a focus on simplification and UX (User Experience) at its core, using secure coding practices, ensuring user privacy, and following software development standard processes. Partners with other teams including design and product management to create the right solution for the customers. Creates technical design documentation to be used by the team as well as contributing to end users. Debugs and addresses software issues during development and in production systems to support customers. Brings new insights for product innovation and helps improve software development processes.
Your Impact:
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and cases for Cisco ACI features such as fabric deployment, management, monitoring, and automation
Validate Cisco ACI fabric infrastructure, including leaf/spine topology, APIC controllers, and fabric initialization processes. - Test integration with virtualization platforms (VMware vCenter, OpenShift, Kubernetes) and container networking interfaces.
- Ensure quality of automation workflows and APIs (RESTful API, CobraSDK) used for fabric programmability.
- Collaborate with development and product teams to improve test automation frameworks and infrastructure as code practices.
Understands project and/or department needs and establishes relationships with appropriate multi-functional partners to capture input, collect information and complete work steps. - May lead projects from end-to-end through delegation, review, and getting results holistically.
- May lead medium features from technical design through completion.
Identifies and recommends improvements to the software development lifecycle and standard processes in agile engineering. - Leads delivery of high-quality design of features and work you're doing.
Finds opportunities for multiple products to work together to develop value for customers. - Integrates product sense as it relates to design of the product (market awareness, production adoption, competition) and tracks related metrics.
- Tests and reviews code to optimize scale, velocity, and reliability of work you're doing.
Expert on multiple functional components. - Shares knowledge across teams, both informally and formally (e.g., ad-hoc basis, internal presentations, blogs, newsletters).
- Coordinates across teams to estimate times and complete projects according to specification and user requirements.
- Tracks breakthroughs, progress and provides ongoing updates and remediation plans multi-functionalnal partners.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors + 7 years OR Masters + 4 years OR PhD + 1 year of related experience.
- Requires solid conceptual and practical knowledge in Networking products; has worked with a range of technologies.
- Experience with data center networking protocols and technologies (VXLAN, MP-BGP EVPN, L2/L3 connectivity).
Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (Python, REST APIs) - Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex network and software issues.
- Experience with test automation frameworks and continuous integration processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with AI-powered infrastructure automation and infrastructure as code concepts applied to Datacenter products
