Engineer on a small squad building a Digital TPA platform that replaces legacy core systems for medical and employee-benefits claims, splitting time between new features and keeping live systems running. Full-stack work across databases, REST APIs and screens (React/Angular), plus AI features like claim checking, using Python, TypeScript or Java.
About the role
You'll join a small engineering squad building the Digital TPA system, a new platform that will replace current core systems. Your time will be split between building the new platform and keeping today's systems running well. You'll use AI coding tools daily and help add AI features, such as claim checking and document reading, to our products.
Key responsibilities
Build and test features for the Digital TPA system end to end, covering the database, the APIs and the user screens
Turn user stories and business rules into clean, well-tested code
Build integrations with insurers, brokers and clinic systems through APIs and file exchanges
Add AI features to our products and build screens for staff to review the AI results
Investigate and fix production issues, and deliver change requests on current systems
Support the move to the new platform: map existing business rules, write data migration scripts, and help with reconciliation and parallel runs
Write unit and integration tests, and work with QA on automated testing (Playwright)
Take part in code reviews, sprint planning, stand-ups and retrospectives
Handle medical and claims data securely, in line with PDPA
About you
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
3–5 years of professional software development experience
Strong hands-on skills in Python, TypeScript or Java
Experience building REST APIs and working with relational (SQL) databases
Experience with a modern front-end framework (React or Angular) or a back-end framework
Good testing habits and version control (Git)
Comfortable reading and carefully changing existing code in a live business system
Clear communicator who can explain technical issues to non-technical colleagues
