Software Engineer - Remote
Summary
Build and scale a Python/Django-based mental-health platform, integrate with EHR systems, and deliver analytics using AWS and Celery.
Salary: $105,000 – $135,000 per year
About the role
The position of Senior Developer is key to MHT's success as the company expands the feature set and scale of our platform, develops new integrations to third-party healthcare EHR/EMR systems, and leverages data to generate insightful analytics for various organizations. This role requires ownership of software design as well as coding and testing of new backend (primarily Python/Django-based) features and product capabilities. The person in this position will work with MHT's VP of R&D to discuss architectural and functional approaches to new features and platform capabilities, and then execute multiple tasks in parallel to deliver planned features, integrations, and functionality. Primarily focused on back-end functionality, there may be an occasional need to get your hands dirty in front-end code.

About You
You are comfortable with vague requirements; some might even say you prefer them. When presented with a half-formed idea, you do a little research, ask clarifying questions, discuss with appropriate people, and propose a solution
You have a “get it done” approach and like to see a project through completion so you can move on to something else
You understand that sometimes (often, even) requirements and/or priorities change mid-stream, and for a rapidly evolving product it's a given that the goalposts are going to be fairly mobile
You prefer to work on a small team and are always ready to lend a hand, even if it’s not in your specialty area
You’re proud of your work and consider it a failure if a bug makes it through to the QA team or even production
You are comfortable using AI tools, know where they get it wrong, and catch errors before they ship

At least three (3) years of recent experience working as a software developer/engineer
At least one (1) year of recent experience writing Python software
Excellent English language skills, for both written and oral communications

Five-plus (5+) years working as a software developer/engineer
Recent experience writing Django applications, specifically using Django REST Framework

MySQL familiarity (ability to run queries on the MySQL command-line)
Understanding database schemas and complex data models at a technical level, including relational models, queries, reporting and dashboarding
Linux familiarity (you're not necessarily a command-line junky, but you know the basics)
Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) architecture and design, including but not limited to optimizing performance, load balancing and redundancy
Experience with Health Care Systems and Interfaces, preferably using HL7, FHIR, or other standards-based, secure HIPAA-compliant integration
