Software Engineer, Research IT, Information Technology

Summary

Build and maintain full-stack apps using React, Java, and Spring Boot, including REST APIs, PostgreSQL, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain full stack applications using React, Java, and Spring Boot.
  • Build and support RESTful APIs and backend services.
  • Design, write, and maintain queries for PostgreSQL and other SQL-based data requirements.
  • Work with business users, product teams, analysts, and developers to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
  • Develop frontend features, reusable components, and user interfaces using React.
  • Containerise and support applications using Docker.
  • Use GitHub for source control, collaboration, code reviews, and development workflows.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the frontend, backend, database, and deployment layers.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, development standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, or similar persistence frameworks.
  • Experience writing unit and integration tests.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud or Linux-based environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree or above in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience in developing and maintaining Java based applications/solutions.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative / interpersonal / problem-solving skills
  • able to work independently / attention to details / result-driven/ self-motivated / enthusiastic
  • Excellent command of / fluent in both spoken and written English.
