Software Engineer (Retail, AU, Hybrid)
Summary
The Software Engineer will focus on quality assurance by building and maintaining automated tests for UI and APIs, implementing test strategies, and performing database testing within a retail environment.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Test Automation: Hands-on experience building and maintaining automated tests, preferably using tools like Playwright or Selenium for UI, and Postman for API testing.
- Quality Strategy: Ability to design and implement test strategies, quality gates, and "shift-left" practices (e.g., contributing to test strategy and Definitions of Done).
- API & Database Testing: Practical experience with API testing (Postman) and database testing (SQL).
- Defect Management: Proficient in debugging, defect analysis, and using tools like JIRA for defect management.
- CI/CD & Pipelines: Understanding of quality gates within CI/CD pipelines.
- Observability: Understanding of how quality metrics and telemetry are used to inform decisions.
- AI-Assisted Testing: Responsible use of approved AI tools for test design and automation.
- Collaboration: Strong communication skills to articulate quality status, risks, and blockers across time zones and to stakeholders.
