Software Engineer Rust

Salary: £39,000 - 79,000 per year

• We require a bachelors degree or higher in an analytical subject such as Computer Science, Engineering, Maths, or Physics.
• We require 3+ years of programming experience in Rust or C++.
• We expect you to learn new languages quickly and contribute across Rust, Java, C++, and Python codebases as needed.
• We require experience using Linux and developing software that runs on Linux.
• We require an understanding of virtual machines and containerisation technologies, along with experience using Docker.
• Preferred: experience with data science or AI.
• Preferred: familiarity with NATS.io.
• Preferred: knowledge of networks and networking protocols such as TCP/IP and HTTP.
• Preferred: exposure to cryptography.
• Preferred: familiarity with SIP, audio and video coding, processing techniques, and related technologies.
• Preferred: familiarity with Git, DevOps, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.

• We design, develop, test, and deliver new features and improvements as part of an agile team.
• We help manage the operational side of our highly available microservice architecture, including participating in an on-call rotation.
• We tackle varied and challenging problems daily with flexibility, a data-driven focus on quality, and a willingness to learn quickly.
• We take ownership of tasks from building new functionality to developing automated tests and investigating issues.
• We use and apply AI in new scenarios to improve productivity and support Ciscos growth.
• We collaborate with our team and receive mentorship and formal training to grow our skills.
