The Opportunity
We are delighted to be partnering with a high-growth technology organisation as they seek to appoint a Software Engineer to join their Belfast-based engineering team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Software Engineer with strong Python experience who is looking to develop their career further within security. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced engineering and security professionals, contributing to secure software development and solving complex security challenges.
The team are happy to train the right person on the security side, but you will need to demonstrate a genuine interest in security and an understanding of how security should be considered when building software.
The Role
As a Software Engineer, you will work closely with engineering teams to identify security risks, develop security-focused solutions and promote secure-by-design practices.
You will have the opportunity to work across areas including Python, SQL, AWS, IAM, authentication, customer data protection and cloud security, while developing your expertise within a dedicated security-focused engineering environment.
What You Need
- 2+ years' commercial experience as a Software Engineer, ideally with strong Python experience
- Experience with Python and SQL
- Experience working with AWS, ideally including IAM and security services
- Genuine interest in cybersecurity and a willingness to develop security expertise
- Understanding of secure software development and security best practices
- Awareness of authentication, authorisation, identity and access management, data protection or network security
- Experience considering security within software design and development
- Knowledge of OWASP, threat modelling or risk assessment would be advantageous
