Software Engineer, Senior
Summary
Senior engineer at an IT/AI consulting firm who owns hands-on design and delivery of client workflow automations, integrations, full-stack apps, and LLM-based AI agents — mainly using Microsoft Power Platform, SharePoint/M365, and Claude/ChatGPT — while informally mentoring associates and serving as the client's technical point of contact.
EngineeRD Solutions, LLC (EngineeRD) is an IT and AI-services consulting firm that builds automation, integration, and full-stack software solutions for clients across industries — including back-office and workflow transformation, AI agent (“AI employee”) development, and Microsoft 365/Power Platform engineering. Project assignments, technology stacks, and client industries vary over time as EngineeRD's client portfolio changes; this role is not limited to any single client or engagement. As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll own the majority of hands-on design and build work on assigned client engagements, working with limited day-to-day direction. You'll translate client requirements into working systems, informally support Associate engineers on the same project, and serve as a technical point of contact for clients during build and stabilization.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own delivery of workflow automations, integrations, and full-stack applications for assigned client engagements, with minimal day-to-day direction
- Architect and develop AI agents and “AI employee” workflows using Claude, ChatGPT, and other LLM platforms, including prompt design, tool integration, and agent orchestration
- Lead hands-on development within Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI, Dataverse) and SharePoint/M365, including custom connectors and integrations
- Perform the majority of hands-on coding, testing, and defect correction across a project's build phase, ahead of user acceptance testing
- Translate client requirements and workflow assessments into technical designs, automation specifications, and build plans
- Informally review and support the work of Associate Software Engineers assigned to the same project, including code review and troubleshooting help
- Serve as a technical point of contact for assigned clients during build, testing, and stabilization phases
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, manual fallback procedures, and training materials for client handoff
- Identify technical risks and third-party platform dependencies, and propose solutions or workarounds
- Support root-cause analysis and structured, ITIL-style issue management during post-handoff defect correction
- Take on additional engineering responsibilities and client engagements as EngineeRD's project mix evolves
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience across full-stack development (front-end and back-end)
- Demonstrated experience designing and building workflow automations or integrations, ideally including Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI) and/or SharePoint/M365
- Hands-on experience building or integrating AI agents or LLM-powered workflows (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar)
- Experience translating business or client requirements into technical designs and delivering them with limited oversight
- Strong debugging, testing, and technical documentation skills
- Comfortable working independently in a small, fully remote team and communicating directly with clients
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading a build workstream or sub-team on a client-facing technical project
- Experience with revenue cycle, back-office, or operations automation for professional-services or healthcare clients
- Experience with SQL, REST/GraphQL APIs, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or similar)
- Familiarity with ITIL-based issue management and ticketing systems (Jira, ServiceNow, or similar)
- Eligibility for, or willingness to pursue, a U.S. government security clearance for assignments involving EngineeRD's federal client work (not required for all engagements)
