Summary

Senior Software Engineer on Infor's new Data Fabric team, designing the semantic layer for cross-ERP data integration: RDF/OWL ontology models, canonical entity schemas, and SPARQL/Apache Jena services deployed on AWS, plus SHACL data-quality rules. Also mentors engineers and contributes artifacts for future GenAI/RAG use cases.

Infor is building a new Data Fabric capability that bridges structural data gaps across Infor's ERP products through a canonical data model, and elevates that canonical data into unified business intelligence through an ontology layer built on Apache Jena and SPARQL. Together these capabilities lower cross-application integration cost, unlock multi-tenant analytics, and provide the semantic foundation required to scale Generative AI from Data Fabric.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design and build core pieces of this semantic layer: ontology models, canonical entity schemas, and the SPARQL/Jena-based services that expose them, while mentoring Software Engineers and partnering closely with the Team Leader and architecture stakeholders.

  • Design and build ontology models (RDF/OWL) and canonical data model entities for cross-ERP integration domains (e.g., Customer Master, Order-to-Cash, Financials).
  • Develop and optimize SPARQL queries and Apache Jena-based services, including TDB2-backed stores, for production-scale semantic data access.
  • Lead cross-ERP mapping design — translating disparate ERP schemas (XSD/JSON Schema and native models) into the shared canonical model, handling edge cases such as multi-tenant variants and schema drift.
  • Author SHACL validation rules and data-quality checks for canonical and ontology artifacts, partnering with Quality Senior Analysts on test strategy.
  • Review designs and code from Software Engineers; mentor them through the ontology and canonical modeling learning path.
  • Contribute canonical/ontology artifacts that feed Data Fabric ETL and streaming pipelines, and that will underpin future GenAI/RAG use cases over Data Fabric's knowledge graphs.
  • Participate in architecture reviews, present design trade-offs to product and engineering stakeholders, and help evolve governance for ontology versioning and canonical schema change management.

  • 6+ years of software engineering experience in enterprise product, platform, or data integration environments.
  • 4+ years of hands-on Java development, preferably with Spring Boot, REST APIs, and SQL.
  • Hands-on experience with, or strong aptitude and readiness to quickly ramp on, RDF/OWL, SPARQL, and Apache Jena (or comparable semantic web / graph technologies).
  • Experience with complex data modeling, schema mapping, or master data management across multiple systems or applications.
  • Exposure to AWS or another cloud-native platform for application delivery, including deployment, monitoring, and CI/CD.
  • Ability to mentor engineers and communicate technical trade-offs to non-specialist stakeholders.
  • Strong ownership, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.

  • Prior work on knowledge graphs, ontology engineering, or semantic data platforms in an enterprise or ERP context.
  • Experience with SHACL, Protégé, or Fuseki.
  • Familiarity with multi-tenant SaaS architecture and its implications for canonical/semantic data design.
  • Exposure to GenAI/LLM patterns such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) over knowledge graphs.
