SOFTWARE ENGINEER
About the role
We are looking for a Software Engineer to design, develop, maintain and support software used in our medical device and healthcare projects. Based in Hong Kong, you will work closely with colleagues in Singapore and external vendors. This is a hands-on role that requires careful documentation and the ability to manage assigned work independently.
Key responsibilities
Software design and development: Design and develop software features, improve usability and performance, and maintain existing software.
Software support: Investigate reported issues, troubleshoot faults, implement fixes and confirm that they have been resolved.
Testing: Plan and carry out testing for new features, fixes and other software changes. Support software verification and validation activities.
Quality and change control: Assess the impact of proposed changes and follow the company's quality management procedures, including applicable ISO 13485 and IEC 62304 requirements.
Documentation: Maintain software requirements, design records, traceability, test results, issue records, change records and release documentation.
Cybersecurity: Monitor software and systems for security issues, and support vulnerability management, access controls and system integrity.
Data protection: Handle, protect and store personal and health-related data in accordance with company procedures and applicable data protection requirements.
Collaboration: Work with QA, RA, Operations and external vendors on software development, maintenance, testing and issue resolution.
About you
Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Biomedical Engineering or a related field.
1 to 3 years of software development experience, preferably in medical devices, healthcare software or another regulated industry.
Good understanding of software testing, debugging, software change management, cybersecurity principles and secure software practices.
Familiarity with version control, databases, API testing, mobile application development, containerisation, cloud deployment and system monitoring is preferred.
Familiarity with ISO 13485, IEC 62304, cloud systems or software that handles personal or health-related data is an advantage.
Knowledge of AI-assisted software development is an advantage.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, communication and documentation skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities independently while working well with others.
A careful, quality-focused approach, with a strong sense of responsibility when handling confidential and sensitive data.
Willingness to learn and adapt to the requirements of a regulated environment.
