Software Engineer _ Silicon Photonic (Taipei)
Description
▶ About Silicon Photonics Business Division
Delta Silicon Photonics Business Division develops world-class silicon photonics chips and solutions that power next-generation sensors and intelligent systems. Our mission is to deliver smarter and safer environments — from machines and infrastructure to everyday life — by translating advanced silicon photonics into real-world impact that benefits people. We are a future-focused, innovative, and entrepreneurial team driven by deep technology expertise, bold execution, and a strong sense of purpose.
▶We are looking for someone who can
- Develop reliable Ethernet communication layers and protocols to interface with SiPh hardware modules
- Implement middleware bridges to platforms such as ROS (ROS1/ROS2) and other real-time or robotics frameworks
- Build applications with intuitive user interfaces for visualization, configuration, and demonstration of product capability
- Work across the full software stack — from device-level drivers and data acquisition to high-level UI tools
- Design clean APIs and modular software components for integration into customer or internal systems
- Collaborate closely with firmware, hardware, and system engineers to ensure end-to-end functionality and performance
- Communicate clearly, document thoroughly, and own designs from concept to deployment
▶What You’ll Be Doing
As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for building the software ecosystem that brings our silicon photonics modules to life. Your primary mission is to fetch real-time data from the module over Ethernet and bridge it into multiple software platforms, including robotics and automation frameworks such as ROS (Robot Operating System).
Beyond low-level communication, you will also design and develop applications and user interfaces to demonstrate the full capability of our SiPh-based systems. This role spans the entire software stack — from device-level protocols and drivers to middleware services, APIs, visualization tools, and polished UI applications.
You will work closely with firmware, hardware, and system teams to ensure seamless data flow, robust performance, and intuitive user experience.
▶What It’s Like Working With Us
You’ll work in a deeply interdisciplinary environment where software interacts closely with electronics, photonics, embedded systems, and robotics. Many challenges require you to bridge domains — understanding device behavior, crafting efficient data pipelines, and building applications that present complex sensor information clearly and responsively.
We value engineers who enjoy learning across layers, experimenting with new architectures, and building solutions that integrate smoothly from hardware to UI. You’ll be encouraged to prototype, iterate quickly, and design software that showcases the true potential of our silicon photonics technology.
We’re looking for someone who can grow into the role. If this sounds like a place where you could learn, contribute, and grow, we encourage you to apply—even if you don’t meet every requirement.
