Summary
Designs, builds, and maintains a secure, cloud-native data science platform in Java/Linux, scaling it for thousands of users while ensuring reliability and performance.
- Platform & Service Development: Design, build, and maintain backend services, APIs, and microservices in a Java and Linux based environment.
- System Architecture & Scaling: Contribute to the architecture of largescale, distributed systems with a focus on performance, reliability, and security.
- Cloud & Deployment: Develop and deploy services in cloud environments.
- Database Engineering: Work with relational databases to support high volume, data driven applications.
- Containerization & Runtime: Build, optimize, and operate containerized services across the platform.
- Monitoring & Optimization: Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, enhance system monitoring capabilities, and optimize system performance.
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent
- 10+ years of experience building and operating software applications or platform level systems.
- Strong proficiency in all of the following technologies: Java, Ansible/Python, Postgres/MySQL/MariaDB, Linux, AWS
- Hands-on experience with microservices, RESTful APIs, and distributed system design.
- Proficiency with SQL databases and data intensive application patterns.
- Experience deploying and operating services in cloud environments (AWS or similar).
- Strong experience with containers.
- Proficiency with Git based repositories (GitLab, GitHub) and modern development workflows.
- Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals, testing, and secure coding practices.
- US citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required
- Familiarity with distributed data and streaming tools (Hadoop, Spark, Yarn, Hive, Trino).
- Experience with data access control models such as RBAC and ABAC, including the Customer’s Enterprise access control and entitlement management systems
- Background supporting largescale, multitenant platforms or high availability systems.
- Experience hardening systems to meet the highest accreditation or security compliance levels.
- Familiarity with Ansible
