The Opportunity

We help hardware designers bring their products to life faster. Millions of engineers use SnapMagic to build everything from fully electric aircraft to connected toys to life-saving medical devices, and we're now rebuilding how they find and design with components using AI.

We're a small, product-focused team that prides itself on resourcefulness, passion, and curiosity. We have a bias toward action and making an impact, both individually and as a team, as we launch new tools into the market. Expect to be challenged, learn, teach, and grow.

As a Software Engineer, you'll have real ownership over the product, working closely with the founders, Product, and Customer Success to ship things customers use every day.

What You'll Own

• Full-Stack Development: Build and improve code across the entire stack: Postgres, Python, Django, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. Take features from idea to production.

• Engineering Best Practices: Practice and encourage strong engineering habits: reasonable test coverage, appropriate modularization, cohesive interface design, and thoughtful code review.

• Technical Judgment: Make the call on technical trade-offs, balancing beautiful code, maintainability, and time to market.

• High-Throughput Systems: Design and build applications that perform reliably at scale, serving millions of engineers.

• AI-Powered Product Work: Help build the AI-driven tools that change how engineers discover, evaluate, and design with electronic components.

• Customer-Driven Iteration: Work with Customer Success to turn customer feedback and bug reports into fixes and features, and to resolve issues quickly.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of industry experience in software engineering building full-stack web applications, particularly with Django

• A demonstrated track record of designing and building high-throughput applications

• A pragmatic approach to engineering that balances code quality, maintainability, and speed to market

• An appreciation for a test-driven, code-review culture

• Curiosity about AI and a willingness to build with it

• Comfortable working in ambiguity and solving problems independently

• High ownership and a bias toward action

• This is a hybrid position that requires in-person work 3 days a week in our San Francisco office
