By joining us, you will be part of a collaborative and forward-thinking workforce dedicated to shaping the future of technology.

Unleash your Potential

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our team. In this role, you design, develop, and maintain software for controlling instruments in semiconductor Automatic Test Equipment (ATE). This role focuses on developing instrument driver and control software that interfaces closely with ATE hardware and firmware to enable reliable control, operation, diagnostics, and integration of ATE instruments. The role requires strong software engineering skills, as well as a solid understanding of hardware-software interactions and instrumentation.

Impact You Will Make

  • Design, develop, and maintain software for controlling ATE instruments, including instrument drivers, hardware control software, and related functionality.

  • Develop software and unit tests using C++ and object-oriented programming principles for reliable and maintainable instrument control.

  • Collaborate closely with other software engineers, as well as firmware, hardware, and applications engineers, throughout the design, development, integration, testing, and support of ATE instrument software.

  • Participate in requirements discussions, technical design reviews, code reviews, and software release activities.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues involving software behavior, firmware interactions, hardware interfaces, instrument behavior, and system integration.

  • Diagnose and debug instrument control issues using software debugging techniques, hardware information, and laboratory or measurement equipment as appropriate.

  • Participate in the development and integration of new instrument capabilities, as well as enhancements and sustaining activities for existing products.

  • Support production releases and address issues associated with fielded products, including software defects, product maintenance, and obsolescence.

  • Contribute to software quality with an emphasis on reliability, diagnosability, performance, and long-term maintainability.

  • Identify opportunities to improve development processes, software tools, testing practices, and engineering practices.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience developing and maintaining complex, production-quality software systems.

  • Strong proficiency in C++ and object-oriented programming.

  • Experience developing software for instrumentation, hardware control, device drivers, embedded systems, or other hardware-oriented applications.

  • Experience working in Linux-based development environments.

  • Experience working with software that interacts closely with hardware and firmware.

  • Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile software development practices, and product development processes.

  • Strong analytical, debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to understand and troubleshoot complex hardware/software interactions.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional and cross-site teams.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Experience with semiconductor ATE or industrial automation systems.

  • Experience developing instrument drivers or control software for test and measurement equipment.

  • Familiarity with laboratory or measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, digital multimeters, or similar instruments.

  • Knowledge of hardware interfaces, communication protocols, device registers, or hardware drivers.

  • Understanding of basic electronics, digital logic, or microprocessor-based systems.

  • Experience with Python, scripting, or automation tools.

  • Experience with automated software testing, continuous integration, or other software quality practices.

  • Experience supporting customer-facing or field engineering activities.

  • Familiarity with source control, code review, and modern software development practices.
