Position Overview

Senior Software Engineer – Policy as Code (PAC) Team, Pipeline Engineering organization. Locations: Pittsburgh PA, Strongsville OH, Birmingham AL, Phoenix AZ, Dallas TX.

Job Profile

Design, develop, and maintain scalable policy, compliance, and automation solutions integrated into modern CI/CD pipelines. Contribute to both backend and frontend systems, shape technical direction, and collaborate with engineering, security, and compliance partners. Ideal for an experienced engineer adept in Agile environments, DevSecOps, and compliance automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain policy‑as‑code solutions that enable automated governance and compliance.
  • Build and enhance applications using JavaScript and modern frameworks (Vue preferred, Angular or React alternatives).
  • Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices to support policy enforcement and automation workflows.
  • Collaborate with DevSecOps and pipeline engineering teams to embed policies into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Work with containerized and cloud‑native environments using Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  • Apply UI/UX design principles to deliver intuitive, user‑friendly interfaces.
  • Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and code reviews.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical best practices and standards.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize systems for performance, reliability, and scalability.

Required Qualifications

  • bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • Proficiency in front‑end JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue).
  • Experience with Golang.
  • Strong knowledge of NoSQL database systems (MongoDB).
  • Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git).
  • Understanding of cloud platforms and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
  • DevOps principles.
  • Problem‑solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have Skills

  • Experience with rule engines, policy‑as‑code frameworks, or compliance automation tools.
  • Background in security, governance, or compliance‑focused engineering.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure‑as‑code and cloud‑native architectures.
  • Experience influencing technical direction or architecture decisions.

Work Experience

3+ years of relevant or direct industry experience; university or college degree preferred. Certifications desirable but not required.

Pay Transparency

Base Salary: $55,000.00 – $152,375.00 (varies with location, market data, skills, experience, and education). Incentive eligible based on company, business, and/or individual performance.
