About the Role
You will work with the development team to design, develop, document, test and deliver software for an Automatic Fare Collection system or another high-volume, performance-intensive enterprise back-office system.
The role requires strong hands-on Java development experience, together with the ability to analyse requirements and produce proper documentation throughout the software development lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Gather and analyse business and system requirements.
- Design, develop, test and maintain complex enterprise applications.
- Develop Java/JEE applications using Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
- Build and support microservices and containerised applications.
- Prepare and submit SDLC deliverables, including:
- Business Rules
- Software Requirements Specifications
- Software Architecture Documents
- Design Specifications
- Interface Specifications
- Source Code
- Test Specifications
- Operations and Maintenance Manuals
- Training Manuals
- Other required project documents
- Assist with day-to-day application support and issue resolution.
- Liaise with users and stakeholders on requirements, solution design and testing matters.
- Participate in Agile development, continuous integration and deployment activities.
- Ensure that the delivered software meets performance, security and documentation requirements.
- Recognised degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline.
- At least five years of relevant software development experience.
- Experience completing at least one full software development lifecycle.
- Strong experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
- Experience in web programming across UNIX/Linux and Windows environments.
- Proficiency in SQL, DAO and database programming.
- Hands-on experience with MySQL and/or PostgreSQL.
- Experience in software modernisation, containerisation and microservices.
- Proficiency in AWS ECS and Docker.
- Sound understanding of DevOps principles and practices.
- Experience with Agile development and continuous integration.
- Experience preparing requirements specifications, use cases, design documents and UML models.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and stakeholder communication skills.
Strongly Preferred
- Experience with message queues and/or Solace.
- Experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services such as:
- Amazon ECS Fargate
- Amazon RDS
- AWS Lambda
