Software Engineer
Summary
Mid-level Software Engineer in Petaling Jaya designing, building, and maintaining scalable web and enterprise applications across the full SDLC, including RESTful APIs and microservices. Backend-focused stack with Node.js/TypeScript, Java/Spring Boot, C#/.NET, or Python, SQL/NoSQL databases, Git/CI-CD, and AWS/Azure/GCP.
We are seeking a mid-level Software Engineer with at least 3 years of hands-on experience to join our technology team in Petaling Jaya. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable web and enterprise applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams—including product managers, designers, and senior developers—to deliver clean, high-performance code that drives business goals.
Key responsibilities
Design, code, test, and deploy clean, scalable software applications throughout the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Refactor and optimize existing systems for maximum speed, security, and scalability
Partner with Product, Design, and QA teams to refine specifications, user stories, and technical requirements
Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices to integrate internal and third-party systems
Participate actively in peer code reviews, write automated unit/integration tests, and enforce best engineering practices
Identify, debug, and resolve complex performance bottlenecks or production issues as they arise
About you
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related fields
Minimum 3 years of professional software development experience
Must be legally eligible to work in Malaysia (Malaysian Citizen / Permanent Resident / valid work permit)
Strong experience in modern backend technology stack (e.g., Node.js/TypeScript, Java/Spring Boot, C#/.NET, or Python)
Working knowledge of relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server) or NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis)
Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and basic cloud platform services (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Familiarity with RESTful APIs, MVC architecture, and microservice design patterns
Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills
Good written and verbal communication skills in English (Bahasa Malaysia is a plus)
