Software Engineer - Trading Technology- Tier-1 Quantitative Trading

London | £200k-£500k+ TC | Language Agnostic

You do not need to be a C++ developer or already work in finance to build technology for the world's leading trading firms.

I'm working across several Tier 1 quantitative trading firms looking for outstanding generalist Software Engineers. They care far more about engineering ability than whether your current language happens to match their stack.

Java, C++, Python, Rust, Go, OCaml, C# and other strong OO/general-purpose backgrounds can all be relevant depending on the team.

These firms build everything from trading and execution systems through to distributed compute, research platforms, data infrastructure, risk systems and developer tooling. Current roles in the market span scalable backend services, event-driven architectures, real-time applications and enormous distributed platforms.

Potential projects include:
  • Distributed and event-driven systems
  • Real-time trading platforms
  • Research and simulation infrastructure
  • Large-scale data platforms
  • Execution and risk systems
  • APIs and internal platforms
  • Developer infrastructure/tooling
  • Cloud and compute platforms

Looking for:
  • Excellent CS fundamentals
  • Deep expertise in at least one modern programming language
  • Strong system design ability
  • Experience building complex production software
  • Ownership from design through deployment
  • Strong problem-solving and communication

The attraction is the combination of Big Tech-level engineering problems with much smaller teams and significantly closer proximity to the end user and commercial outcome.

Whilst we carefully review all applications, to all jobs, due to the high volume of applications we receive it is not possible to respond to those who have not been successful.
