Summary
In-house software engineer at an established engineering/manufacturing company in Yishun, Singapore: maintaining ERP and legacy internal systems, building Python automation tools, working with MS Access/PostgreSQL databases, processing CAD/DXF files, and joining AI/ML projects such as document recognition and production scheduling. Training provided.
Location: Yishun
Salary: Up to $3,800/month
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:15am – 5:15pm
About the Role
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join an established engineering and manufacturing environment. You will work closely with both the IT and production teams to maintain business-critical systems, develop automation tools, and improve digital processes used in day-to-day manufacturing operations.
This is a hands-on role where you will work across ERP systems, Python automation, databases, CAD data and emerging AI/ML applications.
What You'll Do
- Maintain and enhance the company's ERP and internal software systems, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
- Develop Python-based tools to automate manual tasks, extract data and improve reporting efficiency.
- Work with databases such as MS Access and PostgreSQL, including troubleshooting and performance optimisation.
- Support and gradually modernise legacy systems while ensuring business operations continue smoothly during the transition.
- Develop and maintain tools for processing CAD/DXF files, including data parsing, validation and visualisation.
- Troubleshoot software and system issues, including providing production support during system outages.
- Work with engineering and production teams to identify opportunities for process automation and digitalisation.
- Participate in AI/ML projects, such as document recognition, component detection and production scheduling optimisation.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports and internal web-based tools where required.
- Maintain proper documentation covering code, processes and system architecture.
What We're Looking For
- Diploma/Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline.
- Hands-on experience with Python programming / scripting and automation.
- Familiarity with MS Access, VBA and PostgreSQL.
- Experience working with Linux/Ubuntu environments and basic server administration.
- Exposure to CAD systems or DXF file formats will be an advantage.
