Software Engineer (Vue.js and Java)

Summary

Builds and maintains full-stack apps using Vue.js for the front end and Java/Spring for back-end services, writes unit tests, and enforces code quality with SonarQube.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and support both front-end and back-end application components.
  • Build and maintain Application Programming Interface (API) and backend services using Java and associated frameworks.
  • Develop and execute unit tests using JUnit and Jest to ensure application reliability and quality.
  • Leverage SonarQube to monitor and uphold code quality standards.
  • Use Git for source code management, following effective branching, merging, and deployment practices.
  • Promote software development best practices, including automated testing and continuous integration, while ensuring adherence to coding standards, documentation guidelines, and maintainable design principles.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation and actively contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives to enhance team productivity and long-term solution supportability.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, business analysts, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, development practices, and Generative AI concepts, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and automation.

Job Specifications:

  • Possesses a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 4+ years of software development experience, with proven experience in front-end development and a minimum of 1 year of hands-on Java development.
  • Strong working knowledge of Vue.js and associated front-end technologies and frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience developing Java applications using Spring Framework, Maven and related technologies.
  • Experience implementing automated testing and maintaining code quality, with practical use of Junit, Jest and related testing framework.
  • Good understanding of relational database systems and SQL.
  • Proficiency in using version control tools such as Git and similar source code management systems.
  • Familiarity with SonarQube and its use in enforcing code quality and maintainability standards.
  • Experience working within a Waterfall software development environment.
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, developed environment.
  • Possessed analytical skills with attention to detail and a proactive mindset.
  • Open to learning Japanese and willing to develop Japanese language skills as needed for the role.
