Software Engineer
Summary
Walmart's Finance Tech team is hiring a Software Engineer to manage the full lifecycle of technology solutions supporting financial operations across Central America. The role is a tech/project-leadership hybrid: partnering with product and BPO teams, co-owning budgets and SLAs, and ensuring security, quality and compliance.

About the Role
Manage and optimize the lifecycle of technological solutions, ensuring they meet both business and customer needs to drive strategic growth across Central America.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with the product team to identify business challenges and opportunities, enabling agile improvements aligned with corporate strategy and policies. Co-lead with the TPM in exploring potential solutions, translating business opportunities into technological deliverables.
- Share responsibility with the TPL for securing budget (CapEx/OpEx) throughout the lifecycle of technological solutions—including development, maintenance, and evolution. Align and formalize Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and support models with the BPO and technical teams, in accordance with AIA and corporate policies.
- Ensure solutions comply with Walmart’s platform and data security requirements, as well as internal controls, policies, and standards to guarantee information availability and integrity. Orchestrate collaboration among technology teams to develop solutions focused on solving customer and associate challenges.
- Guarantee that implemented solutions meet all quality assurance processes to ensure effectiveness and efficiency, through proper execution of technical and user testing. Work closely with responsible technology teams to define support models and ensure solution stability and knowledge transfer.
- Act as the primary point of contact—alongside the TPM—between Technology and BPO to understand required changes in technological solutions, ensuring modifications align with business needs and corporate policies.
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Systems Engineering, Process Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
- 5 to 7 years of leadership experience in technology roles or project management, with a strong background in Software Lifecycle Management.
- English proficiency: desirable C1.
- Strong skills in negotiation, problem-solving, innovation, analytics, strategic vision, customer focus, and team leadership.
- Advanced knowledge of industry practices such as BRM, PMI, Scrum, and Product Management.
- Intermediate understanding of DevOps.
- Basic to intermediate proficiency in Jira and project management platforms (e.g., Clarity, Roadmap).
- Solid knowledge of budgeting and valuation of technology projects.
