Description

About Us

YOU & ME CONSULTING SERVICE LIMITED is an Auckland-based business consultancy delivering custom ICT and technology solutions for business clients across multiple industries.

Position Summary

As the Software Engineer at You & Me, you will design, develop, customise and maintain our in-house HR platform and deliver tailored ICT solutions to meet our enterprise clients’ HR requirements and business goals.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design, develop and customise core modules of the company-built HR platform to satisfy varying business requirements from enterprise clients. Write and maintain production-level application code using common web-development languages and frameworks, build out business workflows and function modules for client-specific HR scenarios. Ensure application modules run stably while paying proper attention to the security of sensitive employee-related data.

2. Work together with internal business teams and clients to understand practical business demands for HR system customisation. Translate business-side requirements into feasible technical solutions, participate in development task planning and give reasonable input on work scope and delivery timelines for customisation projects.

3. Collaborate with other team members to deliver platform upgrades and custom feature iterations following standard team development workflows. Take part in regular team technical discussions to maintain consistent coding standards across development work.

4. Evaluate and integrate suitable third-party APIs and services to extend platform capabilities. Identify opportunities to optimise existing system performance and user experience based on real-world usage of the HR platform.

5. Conduct code reviews within the team, locate and resolve application defects and performance issues during development. Carry out necessary testing work to make sure new features and modifications meet expected quality standards before release.

6. Provide ongoing technical support for the live HR platform serving external clients. Troubleshoot system faults arising in production environments and deploy fixes to reduce business impact for end users.

7. Prepare and update necessary technical documentation covering developed modules, interfaces and deployment processes, to support ongoing system maintenance and subsequent feature iterations.

Requirements

1. Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.

2. Solid hands-on experience in web application development, with a proven track record of designing, building and maintaining business-facing software platforms or client-tailored solutions.

3. Proficiency in common web-development languages and frameworks (e.g. Java, Python, C#, JavaScript/Type Script or similar).

4. Ability to translate business-side requirements from internal teams and enterprise clients into feasible technical solutions, and to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

5. Awareness of secure software development practices and responsible handling of sensitive employee-related data, in the context of an HR platform.
