The Role
As a Software Engineering Consultant, you will act as the technical backbone of our growth strategy. You won’t just maintain a website; you will build the automation pipelines, data tracking infrastructure, and AI-ready architectures that ensure our content is discovered by search engines (AEO/GEO) and distributed efficiently to our audience.
You will work directly with the Founder and Growth Strategists to implement solutions that reduce manual effort for the editorial team and improve technical SEO scores. Think of yourself as a "Product Engineer" for an information platform, where every line of code or configuration decision impacts user acquisition and brand authority.
Key Responsibilities
You will operate across four core technical pillars:
- Infrastructure & Performance Engineering
Maintain and optimize the core web infrastructure (WordPress/Webflow/Custom Stack) to ensure a Core Web Vitals score >90.
Implement caching strategies, CDN configurations, and image optimization scripts to reduce load times by 30% over 6 months.
Monitor uptime and server health proactively using automated alerting systems.
- AI Search & Technical SEO Implementation
Optimize site architecture for AEO (AI-Generated Overviews) and GEO (Generative Engines). Ensure semantic schema markup is present on all high-value articles.
Develop custom scripts to analyze backlink opportunities and automate internal linking strategies that prevent siloed content.
Implement data tracking tags that feed insights into our growth model without compromising privacy.
- Automation & Workflow Efficiency
Build "Glue" logic using tools like Zapier, Make.com, or custom scripts to connect Social Media, CRM, Newsletter, and Website data automatically.
Automate content delivery workflows (e.g., pulling drafts from Drive → Formatting for LinkedIn → Publishing on Schedule).
Reduce manual hours spent on admin tasks by 50% within the first 3 months.
- Security & Data Privacy Compliance
Ensure all data collection practices comply with financial regulations and privacy standards (GDPR/India DPDP Act).
Conduct security audits to protect user data, newsletters signups, and partner information from breaches or leaks.
Sanitize third-party scripts to prevent malware injection into our editorial environment.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you must possess:
Technical Proficiency: Strong grasp of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and familiarity with server-side languages (Python/Node.js is a plus).
CMS & DevOps Knowledge: Deep experience with WordPress customization or static site generators (Gatsby/Nuxt) without breaking design integrity.
SEO Technical Expertise: Understand how robots.txt, sitemaps, Open Graph tags, and Schema.org influence indexing.
Automation Mindset: Ability to identify repetitive tasks and solve them with code/automation rather than manual work.
Communication: Ability to document technical solutions clearly for non-technical stakeholders (Founders/Editors).
Values Alignment: Respect for "Intellectual Integrity" in code—no shady scripts, clean libraries, secure practices.
Nice-to-Haves
Experience with newsletter tech stacks (Beehiiv API, Substack API) to build automation workflows.
