Software Engineering Internship
About the Role
Speria develops software and connected technologies that help businesses across the live animal protein industry improve visibility, coordination, and operational performance. We are looking for students who are excited to apply classroom knowledge to meaningful software development work.
This paid internship provides hands-on experience in a collaborative, production-level engineering environment.
What You’ll Work On
- Supporting the development, testing, debugging, or enhancement of software features
- Writing clean and maintainable code with guidance from experienced engineers
- Participating in stand-ups, planning sessions, technical discussions, and code reviews
- Assisting with automated tests, documentation, development tooling, or workflow improvements
- Investigating clearly scoped issues and communicating progress, questions, and blockers
- You’ll collaborate with engineering team members while learning how professional software teams plan, build, test, review, and deliver production improvements.
What We’re Looking For
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Basic knowledge of C#, Java, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or another programming language
- Foundational programming knowledge developed through coursework, labs, or projects
- Interest in software, data, APIs, databases, cloud technology, connected devices, or operational systems
- Curiosity, strong problem-solving skills, clear communication, and a willingness to learn
- Bonus, not required: Git, GitHub, capstone, hackathon, portfolio, or personal project experience
