Software Lead

We are hiring on behalf of our client for a Software Engineering Lead to lead the development, delivery, and operations of AI-driven and enterprise software applications, combining hands-on technical expertise with team leadership and a customer-focused approach.

Job Description:

• Lead, mentor, and manage the engineering team, overseeing task allocation, technical guidance, performance, and delivery.

• Oversee software architecture, development, integration, deployment, and maintenance across backend, frontend, AI platforms, APIs, and automation workflows.

• Drive AI-assisted development using tools such as Claude Code and AI copilots to improve productivity and code quality.

• Lead Python backend development using FastAPI, Flask, or similar frameworks, ensuring scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.

• Manage DevOps, Linux environments, and containerized deployments using GitLab, Jenkins, and Docker, including CI/CD, automated testing, releases, monitoring, and rollback processes.

• Work with Product Owners, business teams, customers, and infrastructure teams to translate requirements into practical solutions.

• Establish architecture, coding, documentation, and security standards; conduct code reviews and resolve technical risks, bottlenecks, and incidents.

• Contribute to technical roadmaps, resource planning, technology evaluation, and continuous delivery improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related discipline.

• Minimum 10 years of software development experience, with demonstrated team leadership.

• Assistant Managers, Team Leads, and Senior Developers/Engineers with leadership experience are welcome to apply.

• Mandarin proficiency is required to liaise with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.

• Strong hands-on Python development skills, including FastAPI, Flask, or similar frameworks, RESTful APIs, and system integrations.

• Hands-on experience with GitLab, Jenkins, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and Linux troubleshooting.

• Strong understanding of scalable architecture, modular design, security, and maintainable software development.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted coding, prompt-driven development, and automation-assisted workflows.

• Strong communication, mentoring, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, with a focus on usability, business value, and customer satisfaction.

Added Advantages

• Experience with LLM integrations, AI agents, chatbots, AI automation, or voice AI.

• Exposure to AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, hybrid cloud, or Kubernetes.

• Knowledge of PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL, Redis, or MongoDB.

• Familiarity with React, Angular, Next.js, and monitoring, logging, or alerting tools.

• Agile/Scrum delivery experience; CSM or PSM certification is preferred.
