THE ROLE

As a Software Engineering Manager on the Hyperscale Systems team at Everpure, you will lead a high-performing engineering team responsible for low-level systems software, device drivers, and core OS integration for our next-generation flash storage systems. These new platforms allow our largest customers to meet the demands of AI and hyperscale workloads.

In this role, you will lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing software development team focused on key Linux kernel development, new hardware platform enablement working closely with Product, Hardware, and Firmware teams, you will translate platform requirements into high-quality, production-ready software.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Team Leadership & Growth: Build, coach, and retain a high-performing software team, handling hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development.
  • Technical Direction & Architecture: Drive execution across low-level systems architecture, kernel driver development, DMA/PCIe engines, memory management, and I/O path orchestration.
  • Systems Software Integration: Guide the development of low-overhead systems software (in C/C++) with an emphasis on low-latency execution, determinism, and flash storage hardware optimization.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner with Product Management, Hardware, and Firmware teams to translate PRDs into concrete platform capabilities, including hardware enablement, low-level bring-up, crash safety, and bare-metal performance.
  • Engineering Excellence: Foster rigorous practices around design reviews, code metrics, kernel/system performance profiling, automated hardware-in-the-loop testing, and zero-regression deployments.
  • Culture of Ownership: Create an environment of accountability, urgency, and psychological safety where engineers can solve complex hyperscale challenges and grow in scope.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Management Experience: 2+ years of direct software engineering management experience leading low-level systems, kernel, or embedded infrastructure teams.
  • Core Technical Background: 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with deep expertise in C/C++, or low-level systems languages.
  • System & Storage Depth: Strong expertise in Linux kernel internals, device drivers, block layer design, memory layout/NUMA, and high-performance I/O pathways.
  • Operational Resilience: Experience delivering hardware-adjacent systems software that demands ultra-high reliability, crash resilience, fault isolation, and safe recovery under physical drive or link failures.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations.

This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.

The annual base salary range is:
$217,000$326,000 USD
