About the job
For an EU Agency based in Warsaw, we are looking for an experienced Software Factory Architect to help shape and evolve modern software engineering practices, development platforms, and architecture standards. The successful candidate will act as a trusted technical advisor, driving the software factory vision, promoting DevSecOps best practices, and defining scalable architecture strategies for complex, cloud-native environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert consultancy in software engineering and architecture domains.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor for software development and platform engineering initiatives.
- Design and improve software development lifecycle processes and engineering practices.
- Define and promote software architecture standards, reference architectures, and best practices.
- Review and recommend end-to-end architecture decisions for complex software solutions.
- Drive the evolution of the software factory and engineering vision across the organisation.
- Ensure architectural consistency and alignment across projects and teams.
- Support DevSecOps adoption, including CI/CD strategies, platform engineering, containerisation, and orchestration.
- Assess technical risks and provide recommendations for strategic technology decisions.
- Mentor senior engineers, technical leads, and architects.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and delivery models.
Profile requirements
- Master's degree or equivalent (EQF Level 7).
- Minimum 8 years of relevant IT experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar architect role.
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
- Valid EU RESTRICTED (RESTREINT UE/EU RESTRICTED) Security Clearance or willingness to undergo the security screening process, which must be initiated within the first 45 days of assignment.
- Strong experience in software architecture design for complex and distributed systems.
- Proven experience designing enterprise-scale and cloud-native architectures.
- Hands-on development experience with modern backend and/or frontend technologies (e.g. .NET, JavaScript, TypeScript).
- Strong knowledge of DevSecOps principles, CI/CD platforms, platform engineering, containerisation, and orchestration technologies.
- Ability to define and communicate architecture vision and technical strategy.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- At least two internationally recognised certifications, such as: Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert; Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert; Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA); Equivalent internationally recognised certifications
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Azure services and cloud architecture patterns.
- Strong understanding of software architecture styles and design principles.
- Experience modelling systems using ArchiMate notation.
Desired Assets
- Experience influencing technical teams and driving architectural decisions without direct authority.
- Experience coaching and mentoring senior technical profiles.
- Experience working in large-scale, multi-team, or public-sector environments is considered an advantage.
