Software & Firmware Developer

Navicom Dynamics is a growing technology company developing innovative navigation and control systems for the marine industry. Our products combine sophisticated hardware, firmware and software to provide advanced solutions used by marine pilots and commercial operators around the world.

We are looking for a talented Software & Firmware Developer to join our team and help develop the next generation of Navicom products and software systems.

This is a genuinely varied role spanning embedded firmware, cloud-based software, mobile applications and artificial intelligence. You will have the opportunity to work across the full technology stack and play an important role in developing new products as well as supporting and improving existing systems.

The Role

You will be involved in:

• Developing firmware for hardware products, including embedded systems and communication interfaces.

• Developing and maintaining cloud-based software and services.

• Developing and supporting software systems used by Navicom and its customers.

• Developing new software applications and tools to support Navicom's products and operations.

• Applying advanced software development techniques, particularly emerging AI technologies.

• Designing and developing AI Agents.

• Developing automated testing and applying test-driven development (TDD) principles.

• Developing and supporting applications for iPad, iPhone and/or Android platforms.

• Working closely with hardware engineers and other team members to integrate software, firmware and hardware into complete products.

• Troubleshooting, improving and maintaining existing software and firmware systems.

About You

We are looking for someone who is technically capable, curious and enjoys solving difficult problems. You will ideally have experience across several of the following areas:

• Firmware development and embedded programming.

• Cloud-based software development.

• Use of modern software architectures.

• AI technologies, including practical experience developing applications using AI tools.

• AI Agents and agentic workflows.

• Test-driven development, automated testing and modern software engineering practices.

• iOS/iPadOS and/or Android application development.

• APIs, databases, networking and software integration.

• Git (or similar version control system) and modern software development tools and methodologies.

You don't need to be an expert in every area. We are particularly interested in someone with strong software fundamentals who is keen to work across multiple technologies and learn new ones.
