Software Programmer

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, test and maintain web applications, backend services, mobile applications and system integrations.

-Develop and maintain RESTful APIs, databases and integrations with internal and external systems.

-Deploy and maintain applications across Linux servers and cloud environments, including application hosting, networking and security configurations.

-Manage deployment automation, system monitoring, backups, security updates and disaster recovery procedures.

-Provide technical support for production applications, investigate system issues and implement effective solutions.

-Maintain technical documentation and continuously improve application performance, security, reliability and operational efficiency.

-Support digital transformation initiatives and collaborate with business and operational teams on technology solutions.

Essential Skills and Requirements

-Practical experience with React, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, Express.js and RESTful APIs.

-Working knowledge of relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, and database query optimisation.

-Familiarity with Linux/Ubuntu, Nginx, Git, Docker, CI/CD and cloud hosting environments.

-Ability to troubleshoot application, database, integration and infrastructure issues.

-Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with a security-conscious approach to work.

Skills and Experience:

-Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in software development, full stack engineering, system integration or a related technical role.

-Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant practical experience.

-Experience in production system support, cloud infrastructure or DevOps practices will be an advantage.

-Familiarity with additional technologies such as PHP, Laravel, Python, Java, WordPress, React Native, AWS and other database platforms will be an advantage.

-Able to work independently, manage competing priorities and provide timely support for urgent production incidents when required.
