Software QA & Test Automation Intern

Job description:
We are looking for an intern to support software quality assurance, with a primary focus on testing applications and improving our existing test automation using Playwright and TypeScript.

Secondary responsibilities include creating application mockups and prototypes, and supporting AI research and testing for document processing and customer service chatbots.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Review application requirements and prepare test scenarios, test cases and test data.
• Perform manual and automated testing, including functional, regression and exploratory testing.
• Maintain, refine and extend automated tests using Playwright and TypeScript to improve test reliability and coverage.
• Identify, reproduce and document defects, collaborate with developers to investigate issues, and verify fixes.
• Record test results and communicate findings and potential quality issues clearly.
• Support the creation of mockups, prototypes and proof-of-concept applications for proposed features and solutions.
• Research and test approaches using Azure Foundry and Ollama to improve AI accuracy, consistency and response time for document processing and customer service chatbots.

Job requirements:

• Basic programming knowledge in TypeScript.
• Foundational understanding of software development, testing and debugging.
• Strong attention to detail and a systematic approach to investigating problems.
• Ability to document findings clearly and collaborate with the team.
• Willingness to improve existing automation and support research and prototyping activities.

Optional skills: familiarity with any of the following would be an advantage:

• Playwright or other test automation frameworks.
• React and/or Node.js.
• PHP and Laravel.
• MariaDB and/or PostgreSQL.
• Java.
• Generative AI concepts or tools such as Azure Foundry and Ollama.
