Software QA Tester (with Basic Programming experience)
Summary
The Software QA Tester will perform manual and API testing, including unit testing in the BFF layer and backend validation, to ensure software quality. The role requires basic programming knowledge in PHP and experience with tools like Postman, Git, and Jira.
We’re looking for an experienced Software QA Tested with a background in basic programming who is committed to excellence and enjoys collaborating with teams to deliver high‑quality, reliable software.
In this role, you’ll design and develop features while applying strong testing practices and applying your dev experience to ensure performance, stability, and scalability across web and mobile platforms. Employment Type: Project-Based (6 months initial contract)
Contract Duration: Subject to contract extension based on project needs and performance
Work Setup: Onsite - Makati City
What You’ll Do
-Perform unit testing within the BFF layer to validate components and service logic.
-Conduct API testing (functional and error scenarios), RESTful APIs, request/response validation, and JSON/XML parsing.
-Adept in Command-line and SQL/backend testing.
-Conduct version control using CI/CD tools such as GIT, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Azure.
-Design comprehensive test strategies for Backend for Frontend, and integrated services.
-Create and execute test cases based on functional and technical specifications.
-Manage defect lifecycle, including bug tracking, prioritization, and ticket operation design in systems like Jira.
-Provide continuous feedback to development teams to enhance test coverage and product stability.
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
-3+ years of experience in manual and API testing with a Strong focus on API and Backend Testing.
-Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, request/response validation, and JSON/XML parsing.
-Experience with Command Line API Execution and Postman.
-With experience in version control (e.g., Git, Bitbucket) and issue tracking tools (e.g, Jira).
-With PHP Source Code understanding (Debugging, Code Review)
-Experience drafting test cases and test reports.
-Strong understanding of defect reporting workflow and ticket operations design.
-Proficient in English (spoken and written).
-Willing to work on-site at the office (Makati City).
-Available for 8-hour weekday shifts (daytime)
