Software Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer
Salary: RM 4,000 – RM 5,000 per month
About the role
We are looking for a detail-oriented QA Engineer to help ensure the quality, reliability, security and usability of our customer-experience software. You will test integrated web, API, communication and AI-enabled workflows used by customer-service teams. This is a hands-on role covering the full quality lifecycle, from understanding requirements and designing test scenarios to release validation, defect investigation and production-quality analysis. The successful candidate should be comfortable testing integrated systems rather than isolated web pages. Customer journeys may move between voice and digital channels, automated and human assistance, case management and external business systems.
Key responsibilities
Work with product, project and development teams to understand new features, changes and expected system behaviour.
Review requirements and identify functional, integration, usability, security and regression risks early in the development lifecycle.
Prepare, execute and maintain clear test cases, test scenarios, test data and testing documentation.
Perform manual functional, regression, integration, user-interface, exploratory and end-to-end testing.
Test web applications, REST APIs, communication workflows and integrations with external systems.
Test live chat, ticketing, call-centre and omnichannel workflows, including message delivery, reconnection, routing, assignment and status updates.
Identify, document and track defects with clear reproduction steps, expected and actual results, severity, priority and supporting evidence.
Retest resolved defects and perform regression testing before release.
Create, maintain or assist with automated tests for critical user journeys using Playwright, Cypress, Selenium or similar tools.
Perform API testing using Postman or a similar tool, including authentication, request validation, status-code checks, response validation, error handling and data accuracy.
About you
Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Minimum 1–2 years of hands-on software QA experience covering web applications, APIs and integrated systems.
Understanding of software testing concepts, including functional, regression, integration, exploratory and end-to-end testing.
Experience preparing test cases, test scenarios and clear defect reports.
Hands-on experience testing REST APIs using Postman or a similar tool, including authentication tokens, request parameters, environments and response validation.
Basic knowledge of a test-automation tool such as Playwright, Cypress or Selenium.
Basic SQL knowledge and the ability to validate database records.
Basic understanding of Git and source-control workflows.
Familiarity with bug tracking or project management tools such as ClickUp, Jira or similar.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation and communication skills.
