Software Quality Engineer (UK Remote)
Salary: £57,000 - 97,000 per year
Requirements:- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience, plus 4+ years of experience in software quality engineering.
- Hands-on experience with UI web automation and API automation using established frameworks; experience with Java, Python, Jenkins, Docker, Maven, and GitHub.
- Strong understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), QA concepts and methodologies, and test management.
- Competency with continuous integration and deployment tools such as Jenkins and Git.
- Practical experience with Agile frameworks, including Scrum and Kanban, work estimation, and test data management.
- Ability to research, evaluate, and integrate modern QA tools and AI-driven testing capabilities, such as AI-assisted test generation, predictive analysis, and smart automation tools.
- Nice to have: UI mobile automation and functional or manual testing experience.
- Nice to have: Performance testing experience, such as with JMeter.
- Nice to have: Familiarity with AWS services such as S3, Lambda, EC2, and CloudWatch, or with security and accessibility testing.
- Takes ownership of deliverable quality, works autonomously within standard guidelines, and resolves issues.
- Builds productive relationships with developers and product teams, with a strong commitment to user experience and software quality.
- Stays current with testing tools, strategies, emerging technologies, and AI tools.
- Partner with the Scrum team to define and implement quality assurance practices and procedures, including test strategies, plans, cases, and related assets.
- Design, write, execute, and maintain automated and manual tests across functional, regression, integration, and scale testing.
- Collaborate with development teams to support releases through functional test validation across platforms and environments.
- Investigate, record, triage, and track defects through verification and closure.
- Identify quality risks and dependencies early in the Agile cycle and work with colleagues on mitigation plans.
- Research, evaluate, and integrate modern QA tools and AI-driven testing capabilities to improve efficiency and test coverage.
- Develop professional and technical expertise in framework architecture, advanced CI/CD pipelines, and broad-scope test strategy design.
- Work cross-functionally with Software Developers, Product Managers, and Quality Engineers in an Agile scrum environment to provide timely testing results, identify risks, and drive continuous improvement.
