Join our Technology team at Exact Malaysia (Melaka) as a Software Team Lead.

As a Software Team Lead, you will be responsible for the success, growth, and delivery outcomes of a Scrum development team. This role combines people's management, technical leadership, and delivery of ownership. You will coach and develop engineers, foster a high-performing engineering culture, and ensure your team consistently delivers high-quality software solutions.

This role is suited for experienced engineering leaders who have proven experience in people management, software delivery and technical leadership within Agile software development teams.

Lead and Grow Your Team

· Lead, coach and support a multidisciplinary Scrum development team.

· Set objectives, provide regular feedback, recognize achievements, and support individual growth.

· Conduct regular one-on-ones, performance reviews and career development discussions.

· Manage performance issues constructively and drive improvement when necessary.

· Foster a positive, engaged, and high-performing team culture.

Drive Engineering Excellence

· Provide day-to-day technical leadership and guidance to the team.

· Promote high software engineering standards, best practices and quality-first thinking.

· Facilitate technical discussions and help the team make sound engineering decisions.

· Ensure solutions are developed according to recommended standards, architecture guidelines, and engineering principles.

· Support modern engineering practices including automated testing, code reviews, CI/CD and continuous improvement.

Delivery Ownership

· Take ownership of a specific product domain and technical area within the organization.

· Act as the primary escalation point for software quality, technical and delivery-related issues within your team's scope.

· Execute technology strategies that support business and technology goals within your portfolio

· Balance delivery speed, software quality, maintainability, and technical debt.

What You'll Bring (This = what you bring)

People Management

· Minimum 1 years of direct people management experience leading software engineering teams.

· Proven experience managing, coaching and developing software engineering teams.

· Experience conducting performance reviews, career development discussions, regular one-on-ones and providing constructive feedback.

· Experience managing performance improvement initiatives and supporting employee growth and development.

· Demonstrated ability to balance people's leadership, delivery commitments and technical excellence.

Technical Foundation

· Strong software engineering background with experience building and delivering modern web applications.

· Experience within the Microsoft technology ecosystem (.NET, C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, SQL Server and Azure) is highly desirable.

· Candidates from other enterprise technology stacks are also encouraged to apply, provided they demonstrate strong engineering fundamentals, technical leadership capabilities, and modern software engineering practices

· Good understanding of software architecture, design patterns, clean code principles and maintainable software development.

· Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar development lifecycle tooling.

· Ability to effectively engage in technical discussions involving architecture, software design, engineering trade-offs, cloud technologies, and modern software delivery practices.

Methodologies

· Familiarity with Scrum and Agile product development methodologies.

· Experience working within Agile software development teams.
