What we can do together:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software IV/QA Engineer to strengthen software verification and test automation across our products and projects.

You will define and implement test automation approaches that improve verification efficiency, software quality, and confidence throughout the development lifecycle.

You will work across digital applications, APIs, distributed systems, cloud-native platforms, and edge environments, acting as a technical reference for automated verification and software testability.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Define test automation strategies based on product risks, verification objectives, technical constraints, and expected value.
  • Design and maintain reusable automation frameworks and test solutions across applications, services, APIs, platforms, and distributed systems.
  • Integrate automated verification into the software delivery lifecycle, including CI/CD pipelines and representative test environments.
  • Work with software architects and engineering teams to improve system testability and enable efficient verification throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Analyze test results and complex failures, perform root-cause analysis, and support engineering teams in identifying product, test, or environment issues.
  • Assess the effectiveness of test automation and continuously improve coverage, reliability, maintainability, and execution efficiency.
  • Work with the Cybersecurity Authority and engineering teams to integrate appropriate automated security verification into the software delivery lifecycle.
  • Provide technical leadership during projects, bids, customer discussions, and technical reviews on verification and validation activities, while promoting test automation practices and industry standards.
  • Maintain the technical documentation and verification evidence required to support automation strategies, frameworks, test environments, traceability, and their evolution.

About you:

We are looking for an engineer with significant experience in software verification, testing, and test automation.

Specifically, you should have:

  • Min.7 years of experience in software testing, including at least 4 years of hands-on experience in test automation.
  • Strong understanding of software testing, verification, and validation principles, including risk-based testing and defect management.
  • Proven experience designing, implementing, and maintaining reusable test automation frameworks for complex software systems.
  • Experience automating verification across web applications, APIs, distributed systems, cloud-native platforms, and edge environments.
  • Proficiency in Python for test development and automation; experience with JavaScript or TypeScript, Go, or Rust is a plus.
  • Good understanding of APIs, messaging, event-driven architectures, and distributed system behavior.
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and containerized or cloud-native environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills across application, platform, and test environment layers.
  • Ability to assess where automation provides value and select the appropriate verification approach.
  • Strong technical leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to develop test automation practices across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • ISTQB certification or an equivalent recognized software-testing qualification.

Additional skills and experience in any of the following topics would be highly valued:

  • Testing software used in space operations, ground segments, satellite data processing, or on-board systems or adjacent industries.
  • Advanced testing of federated or Kubernetes-based platforms and their infrastructure services.
  • Embedded software testing, hardware-software integration, Software-in-the-Loop, Hardware-in-the-Loop, simulators, or emulators.
  • Verification of complex mathematical models, signal processing algorithms, or physics-based simulations.
  • Performance, resilience, fault-injection, recovery, or degraded-mode testing.
  • Experience working in regulated, safety-critical, or high-assurance environments such as aerospace, automotive, or nuclear systems.
  • Software engineering and verification standards used in space or comparable mission-critical environments, such as ECSS.
