Requirements:

Responsibilities:
  • We plan software testing and proving activities from formal requirements and customer needs.
  • We interpret software behaviour expectations and define software test bed requirements.
  • We develop comprehensive software test plans, designs, and specifications.
  • We provide regular progressive software testing assurance during development cycles.
  • We lead technical investigations into software defects and emergent behaviours.
  • We support external software integration, trials, and demonstrations with engineering partners and customers.
  • We analyse logs and data to identify issues and demonstrate compliance to requirements.
  • We execute formal software qualification testing.
  • We provide regular updates to project leads and stakeholders on software functionality.
  • We write detailed software test and analysis reports for certification purposes.
  • We support the software delivery and release process, including final certification activities.

We are recruiting 2 Software Test Engineer subcontractors for our Weapon Systems Simulation & Experimentation (WSSE) department, embedded within our Integration & Missile Validation (IMV) team. This is an initial 6-month contract based in Stevenage, with hybrid working of 3-4 days per week in the office to begin with, moving to 3 days on site and 2 days from home once up to speed. The role is inside IR35, pays £60.81 per hour, and is for 37 hours per week with overtime paid at time and a quarter. We work on real products, models, synthetic environments, and people throughout the systems life cycle, using agile methodologies to develop real-time software components that simulate complex weapon systems and sub-systems. This is a dynamic, fast-paced opportunity in our Digital Battlespace Facility, offering exposure to rapid mini-projects and longer-term projects across the product lifecycle, from concept demonstration and development through integration and customer training.
