Software Test & Quality Assurance Manager

About the Role

Whale Cloud (WCT) is providing Business Support System (BSS) solutions for Singtel. We are seeking an experienced User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Lead to oversee and manage the UAT process throughout the Singtel BSS project.

This role serves as the main liaison between Singtel's business and IT stakeholders and WCT's delivery teams, ensuring that the implemented solutions fulfil business requirements and obtain formal customer approval.

Key Responsibilities

1. UAT Strategy & Preparation

• Establish the UAT strategy, testing methodology, scope, entry and exit requirements, and acceptance standards in line with Singtel BSS project milestones.

• Prepare and maintain comprehensive UAT plans, testing schedules, resource allocation, and readiness of testing environments and data.

2. Testing Coordination & Implementation

• Oversee the preparation, evaluation, and execution of UAT test cases in collaboration with Singtel business users and internal project teams.

• Coordinate testing environments, ensure test data availability, and supervise the complete defect management process.

3. Defect Resolution & Monitoring

• Coordinate defect assessment, prioritization, and resolution with research and development, software engineering, and operations teams.

• Monitor outstanding defects until resolution, arrange re-testing and regression testing, and track testing quality indicators.

4. Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting

• Serve as the primary testing contact between Singtel representatives and WCT project delivery teams.

• Deliver regular updates on testing progress, quality performance, and potential risks to project management and customer governance stakeholders.

5. Testing Quality & Customer Approval

• Verify that all UAT entry and exit requirements are fulfilled and facilitate formal customer acceptance and sign-off.

• Develop, maintain, and continuously enhance testing procedures, documentation templates, and established best practices.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related discipline.

Professional Experience

• Minimum 8 years of experience in software testing, including at least 3 years in test management or UAT leadership positions.

• Demonstrated experience overseeing UAT activities for large-scale telecommunications BSS implementations, covering CRM, billing, order management, charging, product catalog, and related systems.

• Previous practical experience working with telecommunications operators or BSS solution providers is highly preferred.

Technical & Professional Skills

• Strong understanding of software testing approaches, test coordination, and defect tracking procedures.

• Familiarity with test management platforms such as JIRA, HP ALM, or TestRail, along with knowledge of test automation principles.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination abilities, including working effectively with business users and senior management.

• Fluent in English for professional communication; proficiency in other languages is an advantage.

• ISTQB Foundation, Advanced, or comparable professional certification.

• Previous involvement in Singtel projects or telecommunications initiatives across Southeast Asia.

• Familiarity with Agile software development and delivery practices.
