Software Tester (Automation) - Immediate Hiring
Salary: RM 5,000 – RM 7,000 per month
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and proactive Software Test Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our portal-based applications. This role is suited for candidates with solid hands-on testing experience who can work independently, take full ownership of the QA process (including requirement review, test planning, test case design and test execution) and who bring a proactive, self-driven mindset to quality in fast-paced delivery environments.
Job Responsibilities
Analyze requirements, user stories, and designs to identify test scenarios, coverage gaps and risks.
Take full ownership of the QA process end-to-end, from requirement review and test planning through test case design and execution.
Take the initiative to identify gaps and drive improvements in QA practices, without needing close supervision.
Design, review, and execute manual test cases for web-based applications.
Develop and maintain automated test scripts for UI and API testing.
Decide and justify which test cases should be automated vs manual.
Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, and sanity testing.
Plan and execute performance, load, and stress testing to evaluate system behavior under various conditions.
Analyze test results, identify root causes, and collaborate with developers to resolve issues.
Log, track, and manage defects with clear reproduction steps and supporting evidence.
Job Requirements
Diploma/Degree in Software Engineering/ICT or equivalent
4 years and above of experience in software testing or quality assurance.
Strong understanding of software testing fundamentals, defect lifecycle and test design techniques.
Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of the full QA process, including requirement review, test planning, test case design, and execution.
Self-motivated with strong initiative, comfortable driving QA activities forward proactively with minimal supervision.
Hands-on experience testing web applications
Hands-on experience with test automation for web and API testing.
Proficiency in automation scripting using Python or similar languages.
Experience with UI automation frameworks is a must (e.g. Selenium, Playwright, or equivalent).
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Solid knowledge of SQL backend data validation.
Comfortable working in Linux/RHEL environments (log analysis, basic shell commands).
Ability to handle ambiguous or evolving requirements and work effectively under tight deadlines.
Nice-to-Have:
Experience in performance, load, and stress testing of web applications.
Understanding of performance metrics such as response time, throughput, and error rate.
