Position Overview

The Software Tester is responsible for testing and quality assurance activities across the company’s websites, online platforms, digital applications and other technology-based solutions developed or delivered as part of client projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Review client requirements, project specifications and digital designs for websites, online platforms and other digital solutions, and identify key functions requiring testing.

2. Develop test plans and user acceptance scenarios for digital projects, defining the testing scope, approach, resources and timelines.

3. Develop and execute manual and automated test cases and test scripts covering key user workflows, system inputs, functionality, navigation, forms, content display and expected outputs.

4. Leverage automated testing tools alongside manual testing to verify software behaviour, identify defects and improve the efficiency and coverage of testing activities.

5. Conduct functional, integration and regression testing of websites, online platforms, digital applications and other technology-based solutions.

6. Perform cross-browser, cross-platform and device testing to identify compatibility and usability issues across relevant operating systems, browsers and desktop or mobile devices.

7. Test digital features and user workflows against client requirements and approved project specifications to ensure they function as intended.

8. Identify, investigate and document software defects and functionality issues, including reproduction steps, expected and actual results, and relevant test evidence.

9. Work closely with designers, developers and project team members to communicate testing findings, track defect resolution and conduct follow-up testing after fixes or changes.

10. Create and maintain test documentation, including test cases, test scripts, test procedures, defect records, test results and test reports, and analyse test results to support quality review before digital solutions are delivered to clients.

Requirements:

1. A bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related field is essential.

2. A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in software testing, quality assurance, or a related technical environment is required, with demonstrated experience in designing test plans, executing test cases, identifying and tracking defects, and supporting the delivery of high-quality software products.

3. Working knowledge of software testing methods and quality assurance practices, including manual and automated testing, test case design, regression testing, defect tracking, and functional and cross-browser/device testing.

4. A solid understanding of software development and testing practices, including working within Agile/Scrum environments, using common bug-tracking and test management tools, reading technical documentation, and collaborating with developers, designers, and project team members to ensure quality outcomes.

5. Demonstrated ability to carry out testing activities, develop and execute test plans and test cases, identify and document defects clearly, analyse test results, and work with the project team on defect resolution and follow-up testing through effective planning and collaboration.
