Position Overview

We are seeking skilled Installation & Commissioning Technicians to join our growing field operations team. You will be responsible for the physical installation, wiring, testing, and commissioning of solar photovoltaic systems on rooftops and ground-mounted structures across Singapore. This is a hands-on role requiring technical competency, adherence to safety standards, and a commitment to quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

Installation & Mounting

• Install solar PV modules, mounting structures, inverters, and associated electrical equipment on residential, commercial, and industrial rooftops

• Perform structural assessments and ensure proper sealing and weatherproofing of all roof penetrations

• Assemble and secure aluminium racking systems according to engineering drawings and manufacturer specifications

Electrical Works

• Execute DC and AC electrical wiring, conduit installation, and cable management for solar PV systems

• Terminate DC strings, combiner boxes, and inverter connections in compliance with SS638 and SS551 standards

• Install metering equipment, isolators, and protection devices as per SP/EMA requirements

Commissioning & Testing

• Perform pre-commissioning checks, insulation resistance testing, and polarity verification

• Commission inverters and configure monitoring systems

• Conduct performance tests and yield assessments to verify system output against design expectations

• Complete as-built documentation and handover packages

• Submission of documentation to SP Group for approval

Safety & Compliance

• Strictly adhere to WSH Act requirements, BCA regulations, and EMA electrical safety guidelines

• Conduct job hazard analyses and toolbox briefings before on-site work

• Maintain PPE standards and follow fall-protection protocols for rooftop work

Site Coordination

• Coordinate with site supervisors, LEWs (Licensed Electrical Workers), and project managers on installation progress

• Communicate effectively with clients and building management during installations

• Report defects, site issues, and material shortages promptly

Requirements

Essential

• Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical installation work, preferably in solar PV or building services

• Relevant electrical certification (e.g., WSQ Electrical Installation & Maintenance, BCAA Electrical Worker certification, or equivalent)

• Physically fit and comfortable working at heights (roof installations, ladders, scaffolding)

• Familiarity with electrical testing equipment (multimeters, insulation testers, clamp meters)

• Basic understanding of solar PV system components (modules, inverters, MPPT, string configurations)

• Work at height certified

Advantageous

• Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) certification (minimum Grade 7)

• BCSS (Building Construction Supervisor Safety) certification

• First Aid certification

• Experience with specific inverter brands (SMA, Fronius, Huawei, SolarEdge, Sungrow)

• Driving license (Class 3 or 4) — for travelling to multiple sites

Personal Attributes

• Detail-oriented

• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or in a team

• Good communication skills in English (written and verbal)
