Summary

A solicitor in Nottingham’s children and adults legal team handles safeguarding cases for vulnerable individuals, including care proceedings, adoption, and deprivation of liberty, with hybrid work flexibility.

Contract Type: Permanent position

Working Hours: 37 hours per week

Worker Type: Hybrid Worker

Salary: Starting Salary is £40,777 (level one) rising to £44,075 (level four) per annum (pro-rata for part-time) (Pay award pending)

About the Role

Are you looking for a new opportunity or a change of direction?

Are you a qualified lawyer with a passion for safeguarding vulnerable children?

Our busy, friendly and supportive children and adults legal team is expanding and we’d like to hear from you. We are centrally located in Nottingham, close to the local Courts and within easy reach of all transport links in and out of the city. We actively promote flexible home working.

The work includes care proceedings and PLO pre-proceedings. You will also have an opportunity to deal with cases involving forced marriage/FGM protection, adoption and deprivation of liberty.

You will have secretarial and paralegal support, as well as enjoying effective collaboration with other members of the team. The role would suit a less experienced candidate who wants to develop with support and guidance.

You will have excellent communication, analytical and drafting skills, be able to manage a full caseload and willing to undertake advocacy at the appropriate level. Applications will be considered from candidates at all levels of experience.

About You

The ideal candidate will:

· Be an admitted Solicitor, or a Barrister having completed a pupillage post call to the Bar.

· Be confident managing a complex and varied caseload, undertaking advocacy at the appropriate level.

· Have experience of dealing with all aspects of case preparation and representation of clients in courts or tribunals.

· Be able to assimilate complex information quickly and work under pressure.
