Newstaff Employment Services is recruiting for an experienced Residential Property Solicitor or Conveyancer on behalf of our client, a modern and fast-growing law form.
The Role
- Conduct of matters on behalf of clients in residential conveyancing.
- Freehold and Leasehold sales and purchases
- Remortgages
- Newbuild purchases
- Shared ownership purchases
- Transfer of Equity
- First Registrations
- Assents
- Repayment of Help to Buy Loans
- Maintaining orderly and up-to-date files, including electronic files and complying with the company’s policies on file management supported by the Company’s case management system
- Management of a residential conveyancing file from opening right through to closure, to include:
- Preparing client care paperwork
- Completing client onboarding
- Drafting Contract packs on a sale
- Receiving and answering pre-contract enquiries whilst liaising with the client and third parties for responses on a sale
- Title checking and raising of enquiries and searches on a purchase
- Reporting to the client on the title and search results
- Reporting on mortgage documents
- Reviewing replies to enquiries and reporting to clients
- Finalising the contract and associated documents and arranging for these to be signed by clients
- Liaising with any management company or landlord on pre-exchange and post-completion formalities
- Exchange of Contracts
- All post-exchange formalities
- Completion
- Post-completion working, including registration and any liaison with management company’s/landlords
- File closure procedures, including financial ledger review
- Completing all compliance and risk management processes in line with the Company’s policies and procedures
- Reporting to the Head of Department
- Meeting financial targets
- Business development to develop your own caseload and increase revenue for the firm
Requirements
Ideally, you will have 10-12 years PQE within Residential Conveyancing and be used to managing a varied caseload with minimal supervision or administrative support.
Unqualified candidates with a minimum of 2-5 years experience as a Conveyancer will also be considered.
Skills
- IT literate in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Used case management systems
- Been client-facing – including meeting clients in person
- Keen to grow and develop their knowledge and skills
Benefits
Salary: From £40,000 pa to £75000 pa + (negotiable depending on experience)
