The Solution Architect - Applications and Data provides strategic and technical leadership in the design and governance of application and data solutions that enable NSW Parliament’s digital capability. The role ensures solution designs align with strategic objectives, security standards, data governance principles and enterprise architecture, supporting sustainable business and technology outcomes.

Based in NSW Parliament, the Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is a specialist service department working to support the operation of the Parliament of NSW by providing logistical support and advice to members, the Departments of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly and the people of New South Wales. Our office is found close to public transport in the heart of Macquarie Street CBD, next to the State Library and Sydney’s Botanic Gardens.

About you

In this role you will need extensive experience designing and delivering application and data architectures across hybrid environments (cloud and on-premises). A sound understanding of modern integration patterns (e.g. APIs, microservices, event-driven architecture) and data governance frameworks. This role requires a contemporary knowledge of platform-as-a-service (PaaS) and software-as-a-service (SaaS) technologies and architectural implications.

Essential requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Certification or experience with ITIL Foundation (or higher) in service management practices.
  • Certification or equivalent experience in architecture methodologies (e.g. TOGAF, AWS, Microsoft).
