Solution Architect
Summary
Design architecture and solution blueprints for large-scale enterprise ICT systems, translating business and technical requirements into scalable, secure designs while leading development teams. Core technologies include UML, Sparx Enterprise Architect, cloud storage, video surveillance/streaming, and GIS services.
- Design architecture and solution blueprints for large-scale enterprise ICT systems
- Define system interoperability, integrations, interfaces, and technology standards
- Translate business, user, and technical requirements into architectural designs
- Assess feasibility and architecture options for complex multinational ICT solutions
- Design systems with focus on scalability, security, performance, resilience, and maintainability
- Develop architecture artefacts, models, and documentation using UML and industry-standard methodologies
- Establish and enforce architecture, development, quality assurance, and governance standards
- Estimate software development effort, timelines, sizing, and technical risks
- Select, evaluate, and recommend technologies, platforms, and architectural approaches
- Lead development teams and provide technical direction throughout the system lifecycle
- Contribute to requirements analysis, testing, quality assurance, deployment, and change management activities
- Prepare technical documentation, architectural deliverables, and stakeholder presentations
- Monitor and analyse system metrics to support performance, security, and quality improvements
- Support architecture activities involving cloud storage, video surveillance, video streaming, and field operations systems
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to align solutions with operational objectives
- Minimum 8 years of relevant IT professional experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a Software Architect, Solution Architect, Enterprise Architect, or similar role
- Minimum education level: Level 7 (Master's degree or equivalent) in an ICT-relevant field
- At least 1 of:
- Master level certificate in a software development technology domain
- or in architecting software solutions
- or an equivalent certification recognized internationally
- Minimum English language proficiency: C1
- Experience acting as key architect in the development of at least 2 software systems
- Expert-level experience designing and architecting enterprise software systems
- Expert knowledge of system capacity planning, security architecture, and performance optimisation
- Excellent knowledge of databases, application servers, communication middleware, web servers, GIS services, directory services, Microsoft platform security, business intelligence concepts, systems integration, and integrated development environments
- Expert knowledge of UML and experience producing architectural designs and models
- Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, lifecycles, and standards, including RUP, ISO/IEC 12207, and Agile methodologies
- Proficiency with architecture and modelling tools such as Sparx Enterprise Architect, ARIS Architect, or equivalent platforms
- Ability to lead technical teams and architectural decision-making processes
- Ability to effectively document technical solutions and architecture artefacts
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Experience assessing feasibility of large ICT solutions spanning multiple countries
- Knowledge of a broad range of ICT technologies applicable to operational environments
- Experience supporting ICT aspects of field operations
- Experience with cloud storage systems
