Solution Architect (External Consultant)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to support ongoing digital and cloud-driven initiatives. The consultant will play a central role in designing modern, scalable, and secure solutions on Microsoft Azure, ensuring strong architectural governance, high-quality integrations, and close alignment with business stakeholders.

The role requires a senior architect with strong technical depth, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate business needs into robust architectural designs. The consultant must be comfortable working in a fast-moving enterprise environment and collaborating across IT, business, and vendor teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Solution Architecture — Design end-to-end solution architectures across Azure-based platforms and enterprise systems.

• Microsoft Azure — Develop cloud architectures leveraging Azure services, security models, integration patterns, and best practices.

• Integration Architecture — Define and oversee integrations across internal systems, external partners, and cloud services.

• Diagramming & Documentation — Produce clear architectural diagrams, models, and documentation for technical and business audiences.

• Product Evaluation — Assess technologies, platforms, and tools together with the business to ensure optimal fit and long-term value.

• Stakeholder Collaboration — Work closely with business owners, IT teams, and leadership to ensure architectural alignment and shared understanding.

• Technical Guidance — Provide direction to development teams and vendors, ensuring solutions follow architectural standards.

• Quality & Compliance — Ensure solutions meet security, performance, and compliance requirements.

• Roadmapping — Contribute to architectural roadmaps and support strategic decision-making.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong experience as Solution Architect in enterprise environments.

• Deep hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure (compute, storage, networking, security, integration services).

• Solid experience with integration architecture, APIs, messaging, event-driven patterns.

• Strong capabilities in diagramming, modelling, and architectural documentation.

• Experience conducting product evaluations with business stakeholders.

• Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Experience working with cross-functional teams and external vendors.

Engagement Details

• Start: ASAP

• Duration: 3 months + option for extension

• Workload: 50–100%

• Location: Copenhagen (onsite minimum 4 days/week, remainder remote)
