Solution Architect

Division: Group Digital Capabilities (GDC)

The Group Digital Capabilities (GDC) Division ensures Euroclear’s competitiveness by delivering reliable and sustainable IT solutions for the financial securities markets.

Role:

As an expert solution architect for distributed data solutions, you will:

  • Define the strategy of integrating, hosting, building, and maintaining information systems using modern data architecture patterns
  • Be responsible for standard processes and guidelines by delivering high quality architecture & design documentation and products
  • Assess the systems’ architecture currently in place and working with IT collaborators to recommend solutions
  • Provide supervision and mentorship to development teams to strive for consistence in practices
  • Continually research the current and emerging technologies and propose changes where needed
  • Engage with collaborators regarding data platform technology matters (communicate to both business and technical audience) across multiple teams and organizations
  • Act as Technology (sparring) partner for Business when exploring potential new Business Opportunities where the data platform is centric and bringing added new value.
  • Drive new opportunities from a technical perspective but aligned with the business requirements, from the initial ideation / Proof of Concept stage, through to supporting the product delivery.
  • Be able to promote and present the opportunities created by the “to be” adopted technology for the AIR platform, as well as being able to understand and demonstrate the risks that it brings.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience as senior IT software engineer / architect
  • Significant experience in big data and modern technologies stacks for on-premise and cloud based ecosystems
  • Experience in delivering multi-functional multi-platform designs, to be used in critically important contexts (real-time criticality & high resilience)
  • A good communicator with equally interpersonal skills, among peers, business and senior leaders within the organization, as well as the technical / development community both inside and outside the organization.
  • Conceptual and creative! Able to recognize common patterns or generic aspects in elements that seem unrelated at first sight, and to transpose existing solutions in a creative fashion to new situations.
  • Demonstrable experience to optimally delegate tasks and responsibilities while maintaining overall control
  • Experience of agile practices and methods, especially DevOps, test automation and continuous delivery pipeline
  • A problem-solver! You demonstrate strong analytical skills (e.g. breaking up & structuring complex problems into manageable pieces), you can apply them to problems spanning across multiple architectural domains, you strive for a pragmatic approach (80/20 rule) and you focus on tangible and actionable results.
  • Knowledgeable about data analytics platforms, cloud solutions, AI, APIs and passionate about new technology market trends like data meshes and data fabrics.
  • Have the capability to coach and mentor, junior profiles in the AIR tribe to get the best out of them.
  • Knowledgeable of post-trade market infrastructures (e.g. CSD), knowledge of Enterprise Architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF, IAF) and experience with Agile operating models and frameworks are extra assets.
