Summary

Solution Architect who owns the architecture and technical direction of a high-volume, low-latency transaction-processing system, mentoring a growing local developer team while helping establish Fulcrum Digital's new Mexico City engineering practice. Core stack is Java and Oracle, with deep distributed-systems data-consistency work.

About Us

Fulcrum Digital is a leading IT services and business platform company. We partner with global companies from diverse industries, including banking and financial services, insurance, higher education, food services, retail, manufacturing, and eCommerce. With expertise in digital transformation, machine learning, and emerging technologies, we offer a consulting-led, integrated suite of enterprise-grade software products, services, and solutions.

About the Opportunity

We are expanding our Core Engineering practice into a new geography, Mexico City, and are looking for a Solution Architect to help establish this presence from the ground up. This is a high-visibility, high-ownership opportunity for someone who wants to build and lead a long-term, mission-critical project.

Role Summary

The Solution Architect will own the technical direction of a high-volume, low-latency system, working closely with the client's engineering leadership to design, guide, and mentor a growing local team of developers. This is a technical leadership role (not a people-management role), ideal for someone who wants to treat this build as their own long-term project.

Key Responsibilities

- Own the architecture and technical direction for a high-volume, low-latency, transaction-processing environment

- Design for strong data consistency in a distributed, high-throughput system

- Lead and mentor developers on best practices, code quality, and system design — without formal people-management duties

- Partner with the client to help establish and grow their new Mexico City engineering presence

- Take long-term ownership of the project, staying engaged through implementation and beyond to see the results of architectural decisions play out

Required Experience

- 5–7+ years of hands-on experience with Java (5+ years minimum, 7+ preferred)

- 5–7+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle

- Proven experience with high-volume, low-latency systems

- Strong understanding of data consistency challenges in distributed/high-throughput environments (recognized as a rare, valuable skill)

- Experience with switching/transaction-processing systems

- Demonstrated experience leading developers technically (architecture, code review, mentorship) — people management not required

- Strong, stable tenure history — candidates should show a track record of staying with organizations long enough to see the long-term impact of their architectural decisions

- Willingness and ability to train, mentor, and grow junior/mid-level developers joining the team

Ideal Candidate Profile

- A builder and owner — someone who treats this project as their own and is motivated by doing meaningful, high-impact work

- Comfortable being one of the first technical leaders establishing a new practice in a new market

- Long-term mindset: genuinely interested in staying with the project to see it mature

- Strong mentorship instincts and enjoys developing talent around them
